Happy Sunday! I’m feeling super full after attending Summit21 by 21 Ninety I danced, I prayed, I shopped, & I was inspired. Hearing stories of how women of color cultivated such amazing brands just motivates me to go harder. I highly recommend this conference. It exceeded my expectations. There are session breakouts for various tracks. I heard from the founders of The Lip Bar, Miellé Organics, Shea Moisture, The Honey Pot, Curl Box, and Mented Cosmetics.
I learned a dance to “Grown Women” and got anointing from Sarah Jakes Roberts. The had an awesome shopping area that included “Chateau 21” and every gal could shop for 5 free full-size clean beauty items of their choice! I also got my favorite deep conditioner from Mielle Organics for a reduced price of 10. There was also a booth for St.Jude’s, an American Airlines and Travel Noire collab, and even Sickle Cell Testing. Claiming that one day my nonprofit Painted Pink will one day have a booth.
All and all it reminded me the importance of going hard no matter the NOs you encounter and to practice self care as you differentiate your purpose from your passions.
ABOUT THIS LOOK:
I’m loving that tie straps are in for summer. They remind me of summer dresses from childhood. It gives such a girly look! I love this one with the blue and white stripes-which I have to say has been a slight style obsession for me- along with the pattern trim. It’s from Forever 21.
Here are others – this (it’s $12.90) and this one (I got it for $12 with their half off sale)
I paired it with this tan bow slit skirt from Naked Wardrobe, that I got on sale for $15. It’s sold out. I wore these clear mules, which I love. They’re from Nasty Gal, but looks like it’s sold out also.
The ‘fit wouldn’t be complete without a pair of tassels. I’m loving these three color tiered tassels that started out as a DIY and are now in my Etsy! I have a rainbow of shades available and can’t wait to make more styles. Best part is they’re $13. These days, tassels generally will run you about $20 or up. Check ‘me out!
Love,
Amaris
