As you may know outside of the blog, my other passion project is Painted Pink. Our Millennial Breast Cancer awareness nonprofit continues to make strides as we educate on the importance of Breast health, preventative measure, and support young survivors.
My duties include the social media and sponsor outreach. I focus on clean beauty brands and sharing wellness tips to inspire women like myself to live their best preventative lives. As I’ve served as a board member my fervor for spreading awareness continues to increase. I’m becoming more knowledgable on how important it is to reduce our risk and exposure to estrogen increasing products and I also love connecting with survivors.
Early this year, I met a survivor who is my age, 25, on Instagram. Jessica Florence was diagnosed while in college at 22. I knew Breast Cancer didn’t discriminate when it came to age, but I was still blown away when I heard it firsthand. She attends FAMU in my hometown of Tallahassee and I instantly felt the connection between her and our cause. Jess was among our survivor speakers and the recipient of the Millennial Warrior award.
For the 5th year, we switched it up with panel discussions. Getting to hear the different stories of fighting this catastrophic disease in that forum was nothing short of magic!
Overall we had 150 guests and 50 survivors in attendance whose tickets were sponsored. Here are more photos including the Purposely Pink box. I’m so fortunate for all of the clean brands that responded to my requests. We will use the funds and additional product donations for our main initiative, creating care kits for young women in treatment this holiday season.
I never thought that women’s health would become my area of interest, but I’ve become so passionate about the cause. The board was honored with awards by my sister, the nonprofit’s founder.
We debuted our Purposely Planned planners. Filled with daily inspo from podcast recommendations to clean beauty tips to journal entries, the planner was crafted for preventative queens and survivors to live their best lives. We partnered with a survivor to bring it to life.
I love how bloggers support our cause!
MY LOOK:
My initial plan was to wear a jumpsuit to mix it up for the 5th year. Unfortunately the Small jumpsuit I ordered from a new site turned out to fit like an XS and the Medium was sold out when I went to reorder. I loved the jumpsuit so much so hoping I can reorder it in the right size for another occasion! It’s now in my Poshmark because I missed the return date. (My closet: asa385)
This one sleeve dress exceeds my expectations as a second option. -It’s a tricky feeling when you envision an outfit and it doesn’t work out! I paired it with these blue pumps by Gianvito Rossi that I found at Woodbury Commons. They fared well for the hours of standing! I’m also wearing these sparkly earrings that are now in my Etsy.
