Thankful for 25 years of life! On July 1st, I entered the quarter century club and I had to do with some drama. Only fringe would do! I love Nichole Lynel’s shop and found this dress. I love the fringe detail. They also have it in white. There are versions of this dress at House of CB and other boutiques. The dress so fun! I’m not much of a bandage dress girl, but I loved this!
Yesterday was more than I could have ever dreamed. I rang in my birthday in New Orleans on a Girls’ Trip. I’m loving Nola so far! It feels like I have really traveled. I was initially supposed go to somewhere tropical, but I’m so glad the destination ended up here. I found this delish cake shop. It’s peanut butter icing, chocolate cake and gold drip icing. We added the decorations. I will do another post detailing it.
To top off the look, I wore these Zara gold ankle heels that were a sale find. I also got my makeup done and felt so glam. Safe to say it’s the best birthday I’ve ever had!
CAKE:
For my bday dinner, I had it catered to the apartment we were staying in for the Girls Trip. My sister (@amaexperience) has created napkins and coasters with my “Slice of Twenty Five” logo. I live for personal touches!
All over Pinterest and Instagram I’ve been seeing these lavish drip icing cakes and knew that I wanted to have one, but with a bit of DIY, of course. I haven’t had a fancy cake since my college grad! I ordered this seriously delicious chocolate and PEANUT BUTTER icing cake from Bittersweet Confections. Luckily it ended up being minutes from where we stayed. I had them add the gold drop and “25” on it. I will say that the gold drip adds $45 to the cake, but it’s so worth it in my opinion. I ordered the cursive cake topper from Etsy. I went with a gold glitter paper one as opposed to an acrylic one to shave $10 off. – It was under $15. Then I grabbed a bouquet of faux blooms with greenery from Michaels. I also asked my gals to grab some macarons from the cake shop and they were mini which was perfect for the 6inch cake. Sissy added a sparkler and I had one in hand to top it all off. I loved that as pretty as it was, it was also so delectable. I highly recommend in NOLA! It was truly the icing to my unforgettable birthday dinner.
I enjoyed reading your post so much! That dress looks good on you. I never thought to cater a meal for birthday – thanks for the idea!
Yes, it turned out amazing! Thank you!
